Join us for Sunday Worship
All women who are part of the CPC family and their guests are invited to attend the Women's Association luncheon meetings which are held mid-day on the 3rd Saturday each month, except July, August and December.
Our purpose as women sharing a common faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is that we unite through the church:
To proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ
To demonstrate His love, in all areas of life
To declare oneness with fellow Christians everywhere
To grow in Christian faith and responsibility by study, prayer, and service, supporting, with our giving, the work of local, national, and international missions.
At our meetings, we enjoy fellowship over a delicious lunch then turn our attention to the program for the day. We also reach out to others. Some of the recipients of our outreach, with goods or monetarily, include:
Compassion International, Threads of Love, Precious Life Shelter, ECO Mission Presbytery, Salvation Army, Malibu Presbyterian Church, LA on Cloud Nine, Power 4 Youth, Lakewood's Meals on Wheels, Catered Manor, and Hope 4 Life Chapel, as well as Guide Dogs for the Blind, the American Legion, and Fisher House (Long Beach VA) among many others.
Women of the congregation and guests have the opportunity to attend Lydia Circle which meets on the 4th Monday of the month in the morning for a more structured bible study. Prayers are always offered for family and friends for God's comfort and blessings at each meeting before digging into the study. This is a time of fellowship also as we share one another's cares and concerns.
Lydia Circle along with Women's Association and Outreach and Assimilation work together to promote and serve a light meal before the CPC Choir's Christmas Concert.
President, Women's Association
I am a wife of nearly 50 years, a mother and a grandmother. I am also daughter to a 96-year old mother who enjoys good health and has really good genes!
I came to Christ Presbyterian Church for the last sermon in 2000 and came back the next week to meet and hear the new pastor, Dana Allin. I joined the church in 2001 and have been active ever since. I served as a Deacon for nine years and on various teams including several positions in Women’s Association.
I have lived in Southern California all my life, first in the Pomona/Walnut Valley, then in the San Gabriel Valley, and finally here in Lakewood. Even though I like travel adventures and have been all around the U. S. with some jaunts to Mexico and Canada, I’m always glad to come home!
I love to cook, first learning from my mom and both grandmothers. My interest in baking lead to a stint doing cake decorating. At one time I had a collection of over 200 cookbooks.
I love classical music and listen to KUSC 91.5 FM. Every day at 5:00 p.m. they play an “Anti-Road Rage” selection to help us all with the afternoon commute.
I’m a word nerd. I get a new word a day by email from Dictionary.com.
I ‘discovered’ GotQuestions.org and connect to it frequently to enrich my bible study and devotions.
I thank God the Father, and Jesus Christ his Son and my personal Savior for guiding my life and keeping me and my family safe. I am so thankful the Holy Spirit put it on my heart to come to CPC to live in community with the members of this congregation.
