Caring for Your Children and Youth at CPC

 

At Christ Presbyterian Church Lakewood, we believe worship is for everyone—including our children! To ensure the whole family can participate in meaningful worship, we’ve created Kids Korner, a welcoming space where your children can connect with the message in a way that’s engaging and fun.

What is Kids Korner?

 

Each Sunday, a friendly church member and fellow parent will serve as our Kids Korner Captain, ready to welcome your children with open arms. Kids and youth will start out church sitting with their parent, and then right before the sermon, Pastor Tamara will point out who that Sunday’s Kids Korner Captain is. At that time, the kids will be dismissed to Kids Korner for their activity. Whether your kids join the fun in Kids Korner or remain in the sanctuary with sermon-related activities, they will be engaged with the message in an age-appropriate way. This gives parents the peace of mind to focus on worship, knowing their children are well cared for and learning about God’s love.

Two Great Options for Kids During Worship:

  •  Join Kids Korner: A space designed for kids to engage in fun activities connected to the day’s sermon.
  • Sermon-related Activities in the Sanctuary: Children who prefer to stay with their parents will receive a clipboard with activities that tie into the message.

At CPC, we're all about spreading the love of Jesus in our community, especially to the little ones. As a smaller church, we're excited to find someone with a big heart who wants to help us build a thriving Children’s Ministry from scratch.


We're looking for someone who:

  • Loves building relationships
  • Gets involved in our local community
  • Can take the lead and get things done
  • Has a knack for connecting with kids and teens
  • Enjoys coming up with fun and meaningful activities
  • Knows how to inspire and support volunteers
  • Feels comfortable using technology and social media (but don't worry if you're not a pro!)


This part-time position starts at 20 hours per week, and we offer competitive pay based on experience.  (Full-time possibility).
