Join us for Sunday Worship: Experience the Hope of Jesus at Our CPC Community
At Christ Presbyterian Church, our choir members form a close-knit family within the larger church community. They share a deep bond of care and support, lifting each other up in prayer and encouragement. Every Wednesday, they come together for rehearsal, where they begin with a devotional and prayer, fostering a spirit of unity and fellowship.
What makes our choir special is not just skill, but the genuine heart each member brings. Whether experienced singers or newcomers, everyone is welcomed with open arms. Under the direction of Dave, a truly gifted leader, their collective voices blend harmoniously, creating beautiful music that glorifies the Lord.
Join us in celebrating the joy of music and fellowship with our choir, where every voice is valued and every heart is welcomed.
Choir Director
Dave Flietstra, the Choir Director at Christ Presbyterian Church Lakewood since 2005, is deeply devoted to Jesus, his wife Debbie, their eight children, and six grandchildren. Alongside his passion for music, Dave enjoys indulging in golf during his leisure time.
By profession, Dave coordinates and directs the elementary instrumental music program for Bellflower Unified Schools, reaching around 500 students weekly across ten schools. On weekends, he judges for the California State Band Championships and other organizations, occasionally announcing at band shows and football games. During summers, Dave also works as a truck driver for construction jobs and yards, a role he's held for 33 years.
At CPC, Dave utilizes his musical talents as a music director on most Sunday mornings for the past 14 years. The church is blessed with a talented choir that participates in Christmas and Spring musicals, collaborating with other church choirs and the orchestra from Mayfair High School. The choir serves as a close-knit community, practicing on Wednesday nights and sharing life's joys and sorrows together.
Dave cherishes the friendships he's formed over the years and welcomes more "Christ-followers" to join the choir's uplifting journey. For any inquiries or assistance, Dave can be reached at (562) 824-0327 or by speaking to any choir member. God Bless You.
